Stockport vs Leyton Orient Predictions
- Stockport County are on a nine-game unbeaten run.
- Stockport won 16 of their 23 home matches in League One
- Both teams have scored in each of Stockport’s last six games
Stockport can get over the line in second leg
A late penalty from Charlie Kelman means the League One playoff semi-final between Leyton Orient and Stockport hangs in the balance at 2-2 going into the second leg but Stockport should make home advantage count at Edgeley Park.
It was an eventful first leg at Brisbane Road with Kelman bagging the opening goal of the game after 30 minutes, despite being in a clear offside position.
Stockport boss Dave Challinor labeled the decision to give the goal an “absolute shocker” and he will be frustrated that his side bounced back to lead until the 88th minute, only for Kelman to convert from the spot to make it 2-2.
But getting the draw in the away leg was not a bad result for Stockport given how Orient finished the season and on their own patch, Challinor’s men can come up trumps.
Expect goals at Edgeley Park
Stockport went into the playoffs on a great run of form, winning seven of their final eight league matches to secure third spot and put their previous slump behind them.
They beat highflyers Wycombe 3-1 on the final day of the season and have shown they can perform in these kinds of matches, so they are worth backing at a decent price in the second leg.
As for a correct score bet, Stockport are without a clean sheet in six games and Orient will not go down without a fight, so back a 2-1 win for the hosts.
