Crystal Palace will expect to leave France with at least a share of the points, but they will not have it all their own way. The Eagles are looking to extend their unbeaten run to six matches in midweek, but they face a Strasbourg side that have only lost once at home all season.

      Reason for tip

Oliver Glasner’s Crystal Palace have been consistent in front of goal in recent weeks, scoring 10 goals in five matches. They may have to settle for just one on Thursday, though, with Strasbourg only conceding three goals at home in all competitions.

Eagles face tough assignment on the road

Crystal Palace continue to enjoy themselves under the stewardship of Oliver Glasner and the Eagles face a difficult challenge on Thursday as they take on Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg.

Glasner’s men warmed up for the tie with a 2-0 away win at Wolves on Saturday, which extended their unbeaten run to five matches. Palace have won four games during that time, including a 3-0 win over Liverpool in the EFL Cup.

In their last clash in Europe, Palace beat AZ Alkmaar 3-1 at Selhurst Park, but they were successful in their only away game, beating Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 on the road.

They may not have the same success this week, though, with Strasbourg proving difficult to beat at Stade de la Meinau. Liam Rosenior’s team have only lost one league game in front of their own fans, conceding two goals in six fixtures.

They were beaten 1-0 by Lens on Saturday and they will do well to overcome a stubborn Palace side.

In all competitions, they have only shipped three goals at home and all signs point to a score draw between two competitive and well-coached teams.
