Swansea vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions
After starting the season very brightly, Swansea have gone off the boil over the past month. They failed to win at all in the month of September, losing three of their four matches.
Two of these defeats came in the Premier League, with Watford and Southampton both bettering them along with Hull City in the Capital One Cup.
Despite Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew starting the season on fire, Swansea have only managed one goal in their last four games and have looked devoid of ideas going forward in their last couple of matches.
This has seen them drop to 11th place in the Premier League, whereas Tottenham Hotspur’s decent form has seen them rise to 6th.
But a win for Swansea on Sunday could see them draw level on points with the visitors and move as high as 5th in the table.
Spurs managed to beat Manchester City 4-1 last weekend despite going a goal behind halfway through the first half.
This gave Man City their second defeat of the season, and after Spurs’ 1-1 draw with Monaco in midweek they have won four of their last six matches.
Their only loss came against North London rivals Arsenal in the Capital One Cup, but apart from that they look to be improving after drawing all of their opening three league games.
Heung-Min Son, Ryan Mason, and Moussa Dembele are all expected to be sidelined for the visit to Wales though, whereas Swansea remain with a clean bill of health.
The visitors will still be confident though. They haven’t lost against Swansea since 1982, and they have won all of their last seven matches against them.
With both form and history on their side, I can’t look beyond Spurs for this one, and excellent value odds of 9/5 for a Tottenham Hotspur win make me inclined to put a decent chunk of my bankroll on it.
