Sweden vs Croatia Predictions
- Both teams scored in 10 of Croatia’s last 11 fixtures.
- Croatia drew 50% of their last six away matches.
- Sweden averaged 1.2 goals per 90 minutes in their last eight home assignments.
Goals at both ends likely in Solna
Sweden and Croatia have found the competition in Nations League A Group 3 extremely tough so far and united in their struggles, the section’s bottom two clubs have been left in the dust by Portugal and France.
A dismal four defeats in four matches has left the Blågult rooted to the foot of the table, while Croatia’s only victory in four attempts so far came at the Swedes’ expense in a 2-1 triumph for the Vatreni in Zagreb last month.
Remarkably, that was the 10th time in 11 fixtures involving Croatia where both teams scored, and we think goals at either end are likely again when Zlatko Dalić’s cultured charges take on Sweden on Saturday.
Janne Andersson’s struggling Swedes failed to find the net in each of their last two home assignments against the aforementioned Portugal or France, though they notched in 11 of their 12 previous home matches before that, and having already scored against Croatia in the group, Sweden are worth backing to repeat the trick.
Alongside our both teams to score forecast, we like the look of a 1-1 draw for our correct score prediction. Croatia won just one of their last six matches on the road and shared the spoils in a further three of those fixtures.
Sweden should seize the chance to stop the rot of successive defeats against a Vatreni team that have been underperforming on their travels, and with the hosts hitting an average of 1.2 goals per 90 minutes in their last eight home contests, and Croatia notching exactly once in five of their last nine fixtures on their travels, a 1-1 tie looks a likely outcome.
