Swindon vs Oxford United Predictions
Having knocked out Championship big boys Newcastle, Oxford continued their strong run of form by getting the better of Bradford last time out, winning in the league for the second game running. On the other hand, Swindon come into this fixture off the back of consecutive losses as their relatively poor campaign continues.
In truth, there looks to be a fair bit between these two teams, even if they are separated by just eight points. Oxford have looked both good going forward and at the back recently, while Swindon have looked neither. At odds of 11/10, the bet to go for is ‘Oxford to Win’.
The visitors really have looked the part of late and, given their current form, probably won’t have given up on achieving a finishing position that is inside the play-offs. Having won five of their last six League One matches, scoring 14, conceding four and keeping three clean sheets in the process. Fine form indeed.
Swindon’s achievements of late really don’t match up to be honest. They’ve won just one of their last ten and are without a win in front of a home crowd in five. Their last five matches at home have seen Swindon lose twice and draw on three occasions, scoring four and conceding five. In fairness, they aren’t a team who’re getting beaten all ends up, but they’re struggling to produce too much going forward and seem to be sinking into a habit of not winning.
Oxford have certainly hit a purple patch of late and they’re fancied to continue in the same vein here. If they can continue to keep things nice and tight at the back, then they should have more than enough quality to cause the hosts real problems and can record their third consecutive league victory in this fixture.
