Tianjin Quanjian vs Shanghai SIPG Predictions, Betting Tips and Match Previews

Tianjin Quianjian have shelled out a lot of cash in the past year or so as they prepared for their promotion to the Chinese Super League, and so far the future is looking bright for the new additions to the top flight.

They have brought in the likes of Axel Witsel, Alexandre Pato, Junior Moraes, and Geuvanio for big money, and despite them opening their campaign with a 2-0 loss at Guangzhou R&F they have slotted in well to the Super League.

They followed that defeat with a draw away to Shanghai Shenhua and have since beaten Henan Jianye and Yanbian Funde 1-0 at home, but Shanghai SIPG will be a big test of their abilities on Saturday.

The visitors finished 3rd in last season’s Super League table and have brought in extra firepower in ex-Chelsea playmaker Oscar during the off-season. He joins fellow Brazilian attackers Elkeson and Hulk as they look to pry the title away from Guangzhou Evergrande.

They started with a 5-1 hammering of Changchun Yatai and have since beaten Shandong Luneng and Yanbian Funde, with an away defeat to Guangzhou Evergrande providing them with their first stumbling block of the term.

In between league matches they have also been playing their Asian Champions League group stage matches, winning three of their four games and sitting 2nd in the group, only behind Urawa Reds on goal difference and six points clear of 3rd placed Seoul.

The visitors haven’t been quite so good away from home in recent times. They have only won three of their last nine away days in the Chinese Super League, keeping just two clean sheets but finding the net themselves in all of them.

Tianjin Quanjian are fairly good defensively and have scored in three of their four games this season, but I can’t see them keeping Shanghai SIPG out on Saturday, so I’m going for Both Teams to Score at 7/10 along with a 2-1 win for the visitors at 15/2 for my correct score predictions.
