Swansea City vs Middlesbrough Predictions
- Swansea have just one point to show from their last three games
- Boro won the reverse fixture 1-0
- Boro have won five of their last seven away
Boro need to get back on track
Middlesbrough suffered a damaging 2-1 defeat at home to direct rivals Millwall on Friday but they can end their winless streak at Swansea on Monday.
That defeat saw the Lions move a point ahead of Boro and into second spot in the Championship table, and the Teesside outfit need to redfiscover their form if they are to claim automatic promotion.
Boro have just two points to show from their last four games but on the balance of play they were incredibly unlucky to lose to Millwall and they can get back to winning ways at a Swansea side who are destined for a mid-table finish.
The Swans have been exceptional at home but they saw a lengthy unbeaten run in South Wales ended in comprehensive fashion by Coventry in their last home game. Swansea have just one point to show from their last three games and it looks as if they are easing off now relegation and promotion are essentially off the table.
Boro have been better on their travels than they have at home recently with five wins and just one defeat in their last seven trips, and as the team in the greater need here they can secure a crucial win as they bid to move back into the top two.
Swansea’s 3-0 loss to Coventry ended a run of 15 consecutive games in which they have scored at home and they can get on the scoresheet in defeat on Monday, as Boro have conceded in five of their last seven games. The Swans have shipped eight goals across their last three games so a 3-1 win for the visitors has a chance.
Visiting forward David Strelec scored in both of Slovakia’s games over the international break. Strelrec has scored in two of Boro’s last three away games and he stands out as a contender for an anytime effort on Monday.
