Over 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

There have been three or more goals in three of Trabzonspor’s last five games, including their 2-1 defeat in Denmark to FC Copenhagen last week, while Copenhagen’s last six matches have all contained in excess of two goals, as have seven of their last eight on the road in Europe

Trabzonspor 2-1

Reason for tip

Trabzonspor are on a stunning run at home, where they are unbeaten in 24 matches since losing to Roma in the Europa Conference League in August last year, whereas Copenhagen have picked up just three victories in their last seven away matches in all competitions

Trabzonspor vs FC Copenhagen Predictions

  • There have been three or more goals in three of Trabzonspor’s last five games
  • Copenhagen’s last six matches have all contained in excess of two goals
  • Trabzonspor are unbeaten in their last 24 outings on home soil

Can Trabzonspor bounce back?

A late strike from Anastasios Bakasetas means Trabzonspor are still in this tie after a 2-1 defeat in Denmark last week, one of three games in their last five that have contained three or more goals.

The Turkish outfit will be confident of turning this play-off around as well as they are unbeaten in 24 matches at Şenol Güneş Stadium, a run dating back to a 2-1 Europa Conference League defeat to Roma in August 2021.

Abdullah Avcı’s side have also failed to score in just one of their last 33 outings at home, while four of their last five fixtures in European football have seen in excess of two goals scored.

Can Copenhagen hold on?

FC Copenhagen are potentially 90 minutes away from reaching the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2016/17, but they may need their defence to improve after just one clean sheet in seven this season.

The Danes have seen three or more goals in their last six outings, including a 3-0 victory at Lyngby on Friday.

They are also strong on the road in Europe, unbeaten in eight fixtures, of which seven have contained three or more goals.

I predict there will be three or more goals in this game, and Trabzonspor could nick it with 2-1 being my correct score prediction, therefore sending the tie to extra time.
