      Tunisia to Win

      Reason for tip

Tunisia have won all five of their previous meetings with Uganda and they look set to extend that run against a Cranes team who have been dealing with issues off the pitch and have just one win at this tournament since 1978.

      Tunisia 2-1

      Reason for tip

Two of Uganda’s last three games have finished 2-1 and a repeat of that scoreline is fancied in this one, with Tunisia taken to come out on top.

      Tunisia vs Uganda Predictions

      • Tunisia have won all five head-to-heads
      • Both teams have scored in five of Tunisia’s last seven games
      • Uganda have conceded seven times in their last three outings

Carthage Eagles taken to start campaign with a win

Tunisia will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing African Cup of Nations campaign last time out as they were dumped out at the group stages.

They have been in fine form since however, winning nine and drawing one of their ten World Cup qualifiers to reach the finals next year.

They start their Afcon campaign against Uganda, a team that they have won all five of their meetings against by an aggregate score of 16-1.

Uganda have been struggling with off the pitch issues, namely a dispute between the football federation and their players, and that is an unwelcome addition to their preparations.

They have only won one game at the tournament since finishing as runners-up in 1978 and look unlikely to get anything out of this game.

The Carthage Eagles have only lost one of their last nine games and should be able to continue their strong recent run to win this opening clash.

Augsburg’s Elias Saad and Burnley’s Hannibal Mejri add a touch of class to this squad and they could put that to good use to win this one.

Five of Tunisia’s last seven games have seen both teams score and they are taken to win this one 2-1.
