Twente vs Heracles Predictions

Up against it

These sides tackled Eredivisie’s top two last weekend. Heracles managed to hold league-leaders Ajax to a 0-0 draw while Twente were defeated 5-2 by PSV after taking an early lead.

Twente have now lost back-to-back league matches and are winless across their last four leaving the side 10th in the table.

Twente are back on their own patch where they were last beaten 2-1 by Nijmegen which ended a run of six games unbeaten as hosts in the Eredivisie.

Ron Jans’ side have won two of their five games at De Grolsch Veste and have attained eight points from a possible 15.

Home sick

If Heracles are to get a win from this game then the formbook will have to be thrown out the window. Despite an encouraging 0-0 draw with Ajax last weekend, Heracles have lost three successive league games on the road, the last of which came at basement club Zwolle. Heracles are currently 13th in the table but have played one game fewer than the three sides directly above them including Twente.

In fact, Heracles’ only win away from home since March came at third-tier side ASWH in the KNVB Beker last month.

The visitors won just four of their 17 league games away from home last season and have lost 12 of their last 21 Eredivisie matches on the road.

However, Heracles will be encouraged by the fact that they have scored in six of their last nine away league matches and Twente have kept just one clean sheet in the Eredivisie since March.

The sides seem fairly evenly matched but the home advantage could swing the game in Twente’s favour for a narrow win.
