Valencia vs Levante Betting Tips

The 45 year old takes over a side that has lost their last two games by 3-0 and 4-0 scorelines. The first at Real Madrid was to be expected but a crushing 4-0 defeat to Real Sociedad, who aren’t the most prolific of sides was a really concerning result.

They did beat high-flying Villarreal at home only 4 weeks in another local derby but come into this game bottom of the pile and staring at a relegation battle. The new boss is likely to provoke some kind of reaction but it is hard to see him approaching this game with anything other than a cautious approach.

That has worked at times against Valencia this season too and Real Betis and Deportivo have both left the Mestalla with a point largely due to Valencia’s inability to break them down.

They have though won their last three home matches and have crept into the top half of the table and should have enough to beat their neighbours in this one. The recent history of this fixture backs that up too.

The last 4 Valencia derbies have been won by the home team and Levante haven’t ever won at the Mestalla in the top flight. Levante haven’t scored on either of their last two trips across town and were beaten 3-0 at the Mestalla in April.

At 6/5 Valencia look good value to win this one to nil although they aren’t playing quite as well as they were last term with new signings taking a little time to settle in.

Levante will be motivated for this game as they always are and with a new manager to impress there is no danger of them caving in if they go a goal or two down. However they don’t really possess enough quality to cause an upset here and at 5/1 it’s worth backing the hosts to seal the derby spoils with a 2-0 win.
