A bridge too far for Venezia

After their 2022 opener was delayed by COVID, this will serve as the opening game of the second-half of Venezia’s Serie A campaign. The hosts really do need to practice the ‘new year, new me’ mantra as they are currently winless in six league games and sit within touching distance of the drop zone.

Venezia conceded 15 goals across their current Serie A winless run for a 2.5 per-match average, suggesting that they will have to put on a real show in order to keep out the often terrifying attack of title-chasing AC Milan.

There is hope that Venezia can at least lay a glove on their opponents though, given that they scored in each of their last five competitive games, including against Juventus and Lazio during that run. Moreover, AC Milan are missing a host of key players to the AFCON and injuries, so may be more open.

Rampant Rossoneri should do the job

Overall, I predict a comprehensive AC Milan win, but to get more value out of the price I am going on the win and both teams to score market as 57% of their league wins also saw them concede (71% of away wins).
