Verona vs Udinese Predictions
- Verona have lost five of their last six home Serie A matches
- Udinese have won two of their last four away league games
- Verona have failed to score in four of their last six matches
A fruitful trip for I Fruliani
Udinese look well‑placed to extend Verona’s struggles when the two sides meet at the Stadio Bentegodi on Monday. Kosta Runjaic’s men have hovered between 8th and 12th positions in the table this term and look unlikely to become embroiled in a relegation battle.
They fought hard in a 1-0 home defeat to leaders Inter last weekend, having been held to a 2-2 home draw by Pisa the week before. But the Little Zebras seem better suited to playing away from home judging by one or two impressive road results, such as the 2-1 win at Torino and 2-0 win at Parma.
Both of those opponents occupy much healthier positions in Serie A than Verona, who are languishing in 19th place – level on points with rock bottom Pisa.
Zanetti clinging on after horrible home run
Paolo Zanetti’s job could be on the line if things don’t improve at the Bentegodi, where they have lost five of their last six league matches. A 3-1 home win over Atalanta in early December now seems more of an anomaly than a beacon of hope.
Verona’s lack of creativity and Udinese’s improved structure make this a difficult matchup for the hosts. Udinese’s pace on the break and superior organisation should give them the edge in a tight contest.
Back the visitors to take all three points, with a narrow 1‑0 away win also worth consideration.
