      Vidi vs Chelsea Predictions

MOL Vidi were seen as the underdogs in Europa League Group L, but coming into the final match of the group stages they are still in with a small chance of making it through to the knockout stages.

Of course, first they need to get a result against Chelsea. Then they need BATE to slip up against bottom of the group PAOK at the same time, but stranger things have most certainly happened in the competition and Vidi will be looking for an upset when they host Maurizio Sarri’s men.

Chelsea have already secured the top spot in Group L as well, something which is likely to work in Vidi’s favour on Thursday. Maurizio Sarri is likely to make a host of changes as he looks to rest players ahead of the busy Premier League schedule, so the chances are that we’ll see a significantly weakened visiting team here.

Both of Vidi’s results so far have come against bottom placed PAOK, with victories against them both at home and away. Each of their other 3 outings have ended in defeat, but it will be a slight confidence boost that they only lost 1-0 at Stamford Bridge back in October.

Chelsea, of course, have won all 5 of their group stage matches so far. They demolished PAOK at home last time out, but apart from that it’s been a relatively efficient and low key showing from The Blues. They have conceded just 1 goal in the Europa League so far, and 3 of their 5 victories have been by 1-0 scorelines.

It’s unlikely that much in the way of preparations will have gone into this fixture. They have already won the group and have a run of 5 games in just 14 days coming up domestically. After their shock win against Manchester City at the weekend, they are well and truly back in the Premier League title race as well.

We think the Romanian hosts have a decent chance of getting something here. Chelsea will be a weakened outfit compared to the one that beat them at Stamford Bridge, and they won’t be going all out for the 3 points in the same way.

Vidi, on the other hand, will be pushing hard for a result as the hope of qualification hangs just within reach. They have put in a good showing in the Europa League this season, so backing a Vidi Win or Draw Double Chance looks a good value offering along with a 1-1 correct score predictions.
