      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Villarreal have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine Primera Liga games and just two clubs have scored more goals this season. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in fourteen of their last sixteen meetings with Alaves, who have conceded on six straight away trips.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Villarreal are third, ten places and nineteen points above Alaves, but recent head-to-heads have been tight. Three of Alaves’ four draws this season have finished 1-1 and three of the last four meetings between the sides have produced under two-and-a-half goals, suggesting a close contest on Saturday at Villarreal.

      Villarreal vs Alaves Predictions

      Alaves can make their mark

Villarreal have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine Primera Liga games and just two clubs have scored more goals than Marcelino Garcia Toral’s side this season. However, the best bet is both teams to score when they host Alaves on Saturday.

They are third in the league, ten places above Alaves, with 19 points separating the two sides. The hosts have won 12 of their 17 games this season, while Alaves have won five.

Villarreal have won seven of their last eight Primera Liga matches and have been winners in four of the last five home meetings with Alaves. In contrast, Alaves have only won on one of their last eight road trips.

Villarreal have failed to keep a clean sheet in 14 of their last 16 Primera Liga games against Alaves and the visitors have conceded on each of their last six road trips.

The hosts are banging in the goals at the moment, and Villarreal will be backing themselves to score here. They have scored two or more goals in 12 of their 17 league games this season, averaging three goals a game in their five home matches against bottom-half teams.

It could be hard to separate these two sides, with the 1-1 draw looking a decent correct-score bet. Three of Alaves’ four Primera Liga draws have finished 1-1 and three of the last four meetings between these sides have ended with under 2.5 goals.
