Villarreal vs Celta Vigo Predictions

• Villarreal’s last four La Liga games have seen both teams score
• Both teams have netted in four of Celta Vigo’s last six away fixtures

Villarreal still chasing the top four

With seven games of the season remaining, Villarreal will feel they still have a chance of qualifying for the Champions League, especially after six wins in their last nine outings.

The Yellow Submarine’s defence is a concern though, as they have managed just three clean sheets in their last 13 league fixtures, with the last four all seeing both teams score.

Quique Setién’s side have proved a little inconsistent at home, but still racked up six wins in the last ten attempts, despite both teams netting in six of them.

Celta tough to beat, but don’t win enough

Celta Vigo on the other hand are chasing a reasonably rare top-half finish in La Liga, but they too are hampered by the defensive frailties of conceding in all bar one of their last seven away fixtures.

Four of those games have seen both teams score, and they have registered just one win, defeating relegation-threatened Espanyol 3-1.

Carlos Carvalhal’s side have also kept just one clean sheet in their previous half a dozen outings, a 1-0 win over bottom club Elche, so this will be a tough assignment for them.

I predict that both teams will score in this match, but suspect Villarreal will come out on top, with a 3-1 home win my correct score prediction.
