Villarreal vs Getafe Predictions

No easy task for injury-hit Yellow Submarines

Villarreal will attempt to maintain their top-four challenge when they host relegation-threatened Getafe at Estadio de la Ceramica on Sunday. It won’t be easy for the Yellow Submarines, who have so many key players injured or doubtful for this contest.

Attackers Ayoze Perez, Gerard Moreno and Yeremy Pino are all struggling while the club’s record signing, centre-back Logan Costa, has returned from international duty with a problem that could end his ever-present record this season.

The latest indications are that none of the quartet will be 100% fit in time for Sunday’s game, which may give the visitors a decent chance of pulling off a surprise result.

Getafe are the draw specialists

One result that would not be much of a surprise is a draw because Getafe are La Liga’s stalemate specialists this term with five of their nine games having finished all square.

Three of the last four clashes of these clubs have also been level at full-time and the likelihood of a draw here cannot be ignored.  But it is worth backing both teams to score as well because Villarreal do not do 0-0s.

Marcelino Garcia Toral’s men have scored and conceded in eight of their nine league games this season with the only time that they didn’t coming away to Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.
