      Walsall to Win

      Reason for tip

Walsall look too strong here. They’ve won 11 of 18, are scoring freely and just turned over an in-form Bromley side. Shrewsbury, by contrast, are sinking on the road with no wins in five away and a defence coughing up over two goals a game. With Walsall the most profitable side in the division, the hosts are the bet.

      Walsall 2-1

      Reason for tip

A 2-1 Walsall victory makes the most sense. Shrewsbury’s matches have leaned towards BTTS lately, but their away defending is shaky enough for Walsall to edge it. Six of Walsall’s wins this season have been by a single goal, and this sets up perfectly for another narrow but deserved home success.

      Walsall vs Shrewsbury Predictions

Red-hot Walsall can outgun Shrewsbury at the Bescot

Walsall should be backed to beat Shrewsbury in their League Two clash at the Bescot Stadium on Saturday. The visitors have lost their last two away games and Walsall manager Mat Sadler will be hopeful of getting a result against Michael Appleton’s side.

League Two leaders Walsall have won 11 of their 18 games this season, while Shrewsbury are 20th in the table with four wins from their 18 matches.

Walsall maintained their winning habit two weeks ago, beating an in-form Bromley side 3-1. The visitors were on a run of four League Two victories in a row, so this was an excellent result for Walsall, who were priced as 5/4 favourites to win the game.

Walsall are in form, having won three of their last four League Two matches, including their last two games.

They possess an attacking threat, having scored an average of 2.00 goals a game in their ten League Two games against bottom-half teams this season. They have also found the net at least twice in three of their last four league games.

Walsall are the most profitable team in League Two this season. Backing them to a one-point level stake would have shown a profit of 8.78 units, with their home matches yielding a profit of 4.60 units.

The visitors are on a poor run of results, having failed to win eight of their last nine League Two away games. Shrewsbury have not won any of their last five on the road.

Shrewsbury have been disappointing defensively away from home this season, conceding 21 goals in nine League Two games – an average of 2.33 goals per game. They have failed to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five on the road.

Walsall may be able to edge out Shrewsbury in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in four of Shrewsbury’s last five League Two games and Walsall have won six of their games this season by the odd goal.
