Hornets can make home advantage count

Watford are out of form, but they might be the value bet to turn things around at home to Hull on Saturday.

Hull are seven places and three points above Watford, with the Hornets 21st (one win, three defeats from six) and the Tigers 14th (two wins, two draws, two losses).

The case for the hosts is built on Hull’s struggles on the road. The Tigers have failed to win any of their last six Championship away games, a run that extends to nine of the last ten, and they have yet to get off the mark in their three away matches this season.

Furthermore, the visitors have shown defensive frailties in recent games, with Hull failing to keep a clean sheet in 16 of their last 19 Championship games. They have not kept out the opposition in any of their last five matches.

These weaknesses open the door for Watford, and a 1-0 win looks a decent correct-score bet. At least one team has failed to score in five of the last seven Championship meetings between this pair, and the Hornets were 1-0 winners against Hull last time they met.
