Watford vs West Ham Predictions
Watford endured a really difficult return to the Premier League at the beginning of the season, with them failing to win any of their first four games and only scoring in one of those matches.
But a 1-0 win at home to Swansea ended that drought, with a 2-1 win at Newcastle and last weekend’s 2-0 victory over Stoke taking their points tally to 13 from ten games. This puts them in a respectable 13th position.
Star man Troy Deeney also got off the mark last weekend as well, and with that mental block now demolished we could start to see some goals flowing from him and striking partner Odion Ighalo, who has had a hand in all of Watford’s last seven goals.
But they will find it difficult on Saturday. West Ham are the Premier League’s away specialists this season. They have only dropped two points on the road from their five league games despite having to visit the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Crystal Palace.
They showed they could perform at Upton Park as well last weekend when they beat Chelsea 2-1 to compound the Premier League champions’ misery.
This excellent start to the season despite difficult fixtures has seen them rise to a very impressive 3rd in the table, with just two points separating them from top of the table Manchester City.
With Watford only winning one of their last four games and West Ham in such incredible form on the road it’s difficult to look beyond the visitors for this match.
The bookies are underestimating them as well in my opinion, with a West Ham win coming in at very attractive odds of 19/10, so this is definitely our main tip for this match.
Watford are joint lowest scorers in the league as well, and with all of their attacking play being reliant on Ighalo I’m thinking a 2-0 correct scoreline prediction at 14/1 is really good value too.
