Werder Bremen and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Wolfsburg have lost five of their last six Bundesliga matches while Werder Bremen are unbeaten in their last four Bundesliga games. Add in both teams to score to the bet because two of Bremen’s last three matches have seen goals at both ends while Wolfsburg have conceded multiple goals in three of their last four league fixtures.

Werder Bremen 2-1

Reason for tip

Wolfsburg have conceded multiple goals in three of their last four league fixtures and look likely to concede at least a couple to an in-form Werder Bremen side that are marching up the table. The home side can be got at in defence, though, having shipped three goals apiece in their first two home Bundesliga games of the campaign.

Bremen to edge mid-table clash at Weserstadion

Werder Bremen should cash in on Wolfsburg’s poor form in Friday night’s Bundesliga clash at the Weserstadion. The home side are now sitting ninth in the table on the back of a four-game undefeated run while Wolfsburg are down in 12th, having lost five of their last six league matches.

Wolfsburg’s only win in that stretch came against second-bottom Hamburg, and even that was a narrow 1-0 escape despite being outshot 27-6. They were also dumped out of the cup by second-tier Holstein Kiel last week, piling further pressure on coach Paul Simonis.

Bremen, meanwhile, are moving in the right direction after winning two and drawing two of their last four, including a gritty 1-0 win over St. Pauli and a resilient 1-1 draw at Mainz. Their home form has been solid, with just three goals conceded in their last five at the Weserstadion.

Both teams to bag in Germany

Given Wolfsburg’s defensive frailties and Bremen’s growing confidence, the hosts are tipped to secure a narrow win. Backing both teams to score, which has landed in two of Bremen’s last three Bundesliga outings, could also be fruitful.

Wolfsburg have pace out wide and Mohamed Amoura has netted four times this season, offering a threat even when the team struggles. Bremen’s defence is organised but not impenetrable, and they’ve conceded in three of their last four matches.

With Bremen likely to dominate possession and Wolfsburg dangerous in transition, a 2-1 home win looks a realistic outcome.
