Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Fewer than three goals have been scored in 13 of West Brom’s last 20 Championship matches and also in 10 of Bristol City’s last 15 league games. There have been very few high-scoring games when these clubs have met recently with fewer than three strikes registered in four of the last five head-to-head clashes.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

West Brom have failed to score more than once in seven of their 10 home league games while Bristol City have not struck more than once in seven of their 11 away Championship matches. Albion rarely concede more than once at home either and Bristol City have tightened up on their travels of late, shipping no more than a goal in six of their last eight on the road. They have drawn their last two Championship games 1-1 so another could be on the cards.

West Bromwich Albion vs Bristol City Predictions

  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in 13 of West Brom’s last 20 Championship matches
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in 10 of Bristol City’s last 15 league games
  • Fewer than three goals have been scored in four of the last five meetings of these clubs

Goals in sharp focus again at The Hawthorns

Goals could be scarce when West Brom entertain Bristol City in a clash of two clubs that need to kick on if they are to stay in the playoff hunt after Christmas. Only five points and three places separate the Baggies and the Robins at the moment with Carlos Corberan’s side two points off the top six going into this weekend’s fixtures.

Albion have let far too many points slip through their fingers of late with last Sunday’s 2-1 defeat at Watford being another example of them not creating enough to win.

Corberan carped about one of his players being fouled before the Hornets’ second goal, but they are the sort of decisions that come and go in a season and his team must be better at overcoming setbacks.

A third 1-1 for the Robins could be on

Bristol City, meanwhile, are coming off back-to-back 1-1 draws against Sunderland and Queens Park Rangers. Only two teams in the top half of the Championship have scored fewer goals than City and one of those clubs is West Brom.

It seems entirely plausible that there may not be many goal chances in this clash as both teams like to pass the ball safely around without putting it into goalscoring positions enough.

Back Under 2.5 goals in the game with a 1-1 correct score bet to make it three games that finish one apiece for the visitors.
