Coventry To Win To Nil

Reason for tip

Coventry have won three of their last six league games and should be full of confidence after Monday’s win over Middlesbrough. They can secure a win to nil at West Brom, who have failed to score in four of five Championship games under Eric Ramsay.

Coventry 1-0

Reason for tip

West Brom have failed to score in four of their last five league games and have gone back to basics under Ramsay. Coventry kept a clean sheet two games ago and can follow up Monday’s win with a 1-0 success at the Hawthorns.

Haji Wright To Score Anytime

Reason for tip

Haji Wright has scored five goals in his last six appearances and could have had four against Middlesbrough on Monday, but for the width of a post.

West Bromwich Albion vs Coventry Predictions

  • West Brom have failed to score in four of five Championship games under Eric Ramsay
  • Coventry have won three of their last six league games
  • Coventry have won the last two head-to-head meetings

Ramsay isn’t raising woeful WBA

West Brom host Coventry in a West Midlands derby with major implications at both ends of the table on Saturday. Albion are on the brink of the bottom three and could slip into the relegation zone this weekend if results go against them.

Eric Ramsay’s appointment has not brought any boing to the Baggies so far with three draws and three defeats from his six games in charge. Worryingly, they have failed to score in four of the last five Championship matches and Ramsey admits he can’t guarantee his side will play fluid football anytime soon.

Coventry, meanwhile, appear to have come through a wobbly spell that saw their big lead at the top of the table eroded to nothing by Middlesbrough. A 3-1 home win over Boro last Monday has lightened the Sky Blues’ mood and they should be able to kick on from here to claim another three points.

Coventry have the Wright stuff

It is probably worth backing the visitors to win to nil at the Hawthorns given WBA’s woeful attacking numbers of late. Coventry have kept only one clean sheet in their last 10 league and cup games, but it was just before their massive Monday win.

Frank Lampard’s side were tested at the back by Boro, who are one of the few clubs in the division that come close to the Sky Blues’ goal potential, but West Brom are nowhere near. Hat-trick hero Haji Wright is the obvious candidate to score and he would have had four on the night if his early header had not hit the inside of an upright.
