Hammers looking to maintain perfect record

West Ham have a perfect record in the Europa League with six points from two games so far and can move a step closer to securing a place in the knockout stages by seeing off visitors Genk on Thursday.

Genk overcame Rapid Vienna in their own Europa League opener but were well beaten in a 3-0 loss to Dinamo Zagreb last time out.  The Belgian outfit are in poor form at present with four defeats in their last five games, and three defeats in their last three away fixtures, and they could be in for a tough evening in London.

The Hammers bounce back from a disappointing defeat to Brentford prior to the international break with an impressive victory at Everton over the weekend.  As West Ham have a chance to qualify with games to spare manager David Moyes should name close to his best XI on Thursday but even if he does opt to rotate for this Europa League assignment they should still have too much quality for Genk on Thursday.

West Ham are yet to concede in Europe and their success in general this season has been built on rock solid defensive foundations.  The East Londoners have kept five clean sheets in their last eight games and as Genk have failed to score in two of their last three matches a home win to nil is the main bet here.

The Hammers haven’t been particularly prolific in attack and haven’t scored more than two goals in any of their last nine fixtures so a 2-0 win for the hosts is the pick in the correct score market.
