West Ham vs Manchester United Predictions

West Ham endured a torrid start to the Premier League season as they struggled to adapt to life in their new stadium and were instantly put on the back foot by Europa League qualification failure. Finally they seem to be turning things around though.

However, they did put in a rather abject performance on Saturday when they lost 1-0 at the out of form Premier League champions Leicester. This has the potential to take the wind out of their sails a bit, and it will be something that Manchester United will hope to take advantage of.

Their 2-2 draw at Anfield in the middle of November seemed to be a turning point for them, following that with three straight victories before losing against Leicester. Their 1-0 victories over Burnley and Hull were rather laboured and somewhat fortuitous, but points are points and they gave them the confidence to hammer Swansea 4-1 on Boxing Day.

Manchester United started the season blisteringly well, but that new manager honeymoon soon gave way to a very poor run of form. However, they have come out the other side of that and put together a very solid unbeaten streak across all competitions, to push themselves closer to the Premier League top four. Their dramatic comeback in the last five minutes against Middlesbrough will have boosted their confidence even further and was a throwback to the Manchester United of old.

Away from home Manchester United have won four and draw one of their last five games in all competitions, and they have one man to thank more than any other. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored seven of Manchester United’s ten goals in these five away games and has found the net at least once in all of them. Backing him to score anytime is the best option for our goalscorer predictions.

Manchester United may be in excellent form at the moment, but the game against Middlesbrough showed how susceptible they are to conceding. It only took a couple of attacks from the visitors before they let one in. In fact, they have only kept three clean sheets in their nine away days in the Premier League this season, whilst West Ham have only failed to score once at home this term. This makes odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score look good value, so that’s what I’m going for along with a 2-1 win for Manchester United at 8/1.
