Whitecaps vs LA Galaxy Betting Tips & Predictions

Whitecaps kicked their season off with a thrilling 3-2 defeat at home to Montreal Impact and made it two defeats in a row when they lost to Sporting Kansas City. However, they seemed to get their act together after than and went away from home to beat Seattle Sounders 2-1, with two penalties from Pedro Morales sealing a win for them.

They made it two wins in a row last weekend when they saw off Houston Dynamo, with Pedro Morales netting yet another penalty to make it four penalties converted in his last three matches.

However, Whitecaps can’t rely on penalties for the entire season, so sooner or later they are going to have to start scoring from normal play if they are to match or better their 2nd place finish in last season’s MLS Western Conference.

LA Galaxy kicked their season off with a 4-1 mauling of DC United, with four second half goals bringing about a comfortable win after they entered the break a goal down. They couldn’t do the same away to Colorado Rapids though as they lost 1-0. Back at home they managed a win against San Jose Earthquakes.

They may have two wins in their first three matches, but LA Galaxy’s away record is a real issue. They haven’t won on the road in nine attempts in all competitions, and each of their last four away days have seen them travel back home with nothing.

Not only this, but with the likes of Robbie Keane, Giovanni dos Santos, and Steven Gerrard among their long injury list the star studded LA Galaxy squad is severely depleted. This makes odds of 11/10 for a Whitecaps win on Sunday look excellent, especially considering they have won three of their last five at home. I’m going for a 2-1 correct score prediction at 8/1 too.
