Wigan are the best bet to win at home to Peterborough, who have started the League One season with two defeats.

Ryan Lowe’s Latics finished 15th in League One last season with 56 points, winning 13 games and losing 16. Peterborough ended up in 18th place with 51 points, having won 13 and lost 21.

Wigan lost 2-0 to Leyton Orient last weekend in their last League One outing and, while they were priced as 13/5 outsiders to win the game, they would have been hoping to be more competitive than the final margin of defeat. Wigan didn’t manage to get a shot on target.

However, the Latics have lost just one of their last seven home games in the league, including a 3-1 win over Northampton in their season opener.

Peterborough, meanwhile, have started the new campaign the way they finished the last – the visitors have lost their last four League One games and are without a win in nine.

The Posh have been vulnerable defensively, failing to keep a clean sheet in their last six League One away games. In fact, they have not recorded a shutout in 13 of their last 16 League One matches.

Wigan to win 1-0 looks a decent correct-score choice. No team had fewer overs games in League One than Wigan last term, and six of their 13 wins were by a 1-0 scoreline. Peterborough have gone down by a single goal in two of their last three games in all competitions.
