Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

Preston have been unable to score in five of their last six games so it seems unlikely that we will be treated to a goalfest at Deepdale

Leicester City 1-0

Reason for tip

Four of Leicester’s last five away games have featured just one goal, so a single strike may be enough for the visitors

Preston vs Leicester City Predictions

  • Four of Leicester’s last five league away games have featured just one goal
  • Preston have scored in just one of their last six matches
  • Both teams have scored in just two of North End’s last 11 outings

Foxes’ task looks simpler

QPR’s 4-0 win over Leeds on Friday guaranteed Leicester will be back in the Premier League this season and that will have come as a relief to the Foxes after a few wobbles lately.

Enzo Maresca’s side have lost each of their last three away matches 1-0 to Bristol City, Millwall and Plymouth, who are all below Monday opponents Preston in the Championship table.

However, the situation is a lot easier following the result of Loftus Road and they face a team who are fading badly and struggling to find the net.

Lack of goals a concern for North End

Preston made a storming start to the season after they won six and drew two of their opening eight games of the campaign but they have simply been unable to keep up with the pace.

They have lost their last three games against Norwich, Southampton and QPR and it is difficult to be confident about them keeping their promoted opponents at bay, even if the Foxes have been struggling on the road and celebrating after their promotion was confirmed.

North End’s lack of goals is a worry which suggests this is a match that generates fewer than three goals, and one may be enough for the visitors so those who favour a correct-score punt are pointed towards a 1-0 away win.
