      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Both teams to score looks the best bet at the Brick Community Stadium. Stockport have scored in 16 of their last 18 league games, including all five this season, while Wigan have conceded in seven of their last eight. Neither side has been defensively solid, suggesting goals for both.

      Wigan 2-1

      Reason for tip

Wigan have won their last two League One home matches and remain strong at the Brick Community Stadium. Stockport have scored in 13 consecutive games but remain vulnerable at the back, and Wigan’s attacking form points to them edging this contest 2-1.

      Wigan vs Stockport Predictions

      Back more goals for Stockport

The best bet may well be that both teams score when Wigan host Stockport in League One on Saturday at the Brick Community Stadium. Stockport have scored in 16 of their last 18 league games and have scored at least twice in 11 of their last 13.

Wigan have won three of their last four League One home games, beating Peterborough 2-0 two weeks ago, while Stockport were 2-1 winners against Burton Albion last weekend and have only lost one of their last eight away games.

Stockport beat Burton Albion 2-1 last weekend, with Jack Diamond and Oliver Norwood on target. The win maintained Stockport’s run of matches with both teams scoring and means they have won two of the three games in which they have been odds-on this season. They justified their price of 11/20 despite going down to ten men early doors.

Stockport have scored in all five of their League One games this season and both teams have scored in nine of their last ten. Wigan have been in some low-scoring games lately, but there were four goals in their 2-2 draw with Rotherham last weekend.

Neither side has been solid at the back lately, with Wigan failing to keep a clean sheet in seven of their last eight League One games and Stockport going four matches without recording a shutout.

The visitors carry an attacking threat. Stockport have scored two or more goals in four of their five League One games this season, and have found the net in 13 consecutive matches.

Wigan have won their last two League One home games and they may be able to edge out Stockport in a close encounter, with a 2-1 victory the correct-score pick.
