Wolfsberger vs Roma Predictions
Wolfsberger drew 2-2 at home with Swarovski Tirol on Saturday, while Roma claimed a narrow 1-0 win away at Lecce and both teams are in good form heading into their second match in Group J.
All of the stats suggest that Wolfsberger are in with a chance of extending their unbeaten run this Thursday and we’ve backed the hosts with a double chance bet and for the game to end in a 2-2 draw.
The hosts don’t have much pedigree in Europe, having failed to qualify for the Europa League proper back in 2015, but made quite the impression in their opening game of Group J and will fancy their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages. Wolfsberger are unbeaten in their last six matches, picking up five wins and a draw, while Roma haven’t lost any of their three away games this season, which is why we’ve backed the hosts with a double chance bet and predicted the game will end all square.
Over 2.5 goals were produced in four of Wolfsberger’s and three of Roma’s last five matches and the hosts have scored at least two goals in each of their last five matches, while their guests have only failed to score in one of their last six matches, which is why we’ve gone with a final score of 2-2 this week.
Wolfsberger conceded two goals in their last match and Roma have only kept one clean sheet in their last three away games, adding more weight to our prediction of a 2-2 final score on Thursday. Wolfsberger beat Gladbach 4-0 and Roma hammered Istanbul Basaksehir 4-0 in their first group game, so we’re expecting lots of goalmouth action between the pair. The hosts carry an unknown quantity which was highlighted when they beat an experienced European side in the form of Gladbach 4-0 at the home of the German club last time out, so Roma will be expecting a tough ninety minutes in Austria this Thursday.
We’re confident that a double chance bet on Wolfsberger will payout on Thursday night and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-2. Wolfsberger are enjoying an unbeaten run but are bound to face a tough test in the form of Roma this week and anything but a defeat would prove a great result for the home side. Confidence is bound to be high in both camps following each team’s 4-0 wins in the opening round of group games and we expect that to show on Thursday.
