Wolfsburg vs Heidenheim Predictions
Wolfsburg to Take Care of Struggling Heidenheim
Wolfsburg should be backed to beat Heidenheim at home in the Bundesliga on Saturday. The visitors are on a two-game losing streak away from home, and Wolfsburg manager Daniel Bauer will be hopeful of getting a result against Frank Schmidt’s side.
They are seven places above Heidenheim in the table, with the visitors rock-bottom, having won just three of their 17 games this season.
Heidenheim lost 2-1 to Mainz on Tuesday in their last Bundesliga outing and could not break their losing habit. Stefan Schimmer hit the back of the net for Heidenheim, who left their scoring for the second half – 75% of their goals this season have been scored after the break. The result was no surprise, with Mainz priced at 8/13 to win the game.
The goals are flowing for Wolfsburg, who have scored in ten consecutive games, including a 4-3 defeat to SC Freiburg in December. They have netted at least twice in four of their last five Bundesliga matches.
Backing Heidenheim when they have been underdogs this season would have resulted in a 5.50-unit loss, with three wins from their 17 games as an underdog.
Heidenheim need to turn things around. They have lost three of their last four Bundesliga matches and were trailing at the break in all of those defeats. In fact, they have lost seven of their last eight away games in the league.
Heidenheim have been disappointing in front of goal away from home this season, scoring just six goals in eight games – an average of 0.75 goals a game on the road.
No team has conceded more in the Bundesliga this season than Heidenheim’s 38 goals against in 17 games, and they have yet to keep a clean sheet after 17 matches. They have failed to keep a shutout in their last eight away games.
Wolfsburg may be able to edge out Heidenheim in a close game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Both teams to score has been a winning bet in ten of Wolfsburg’s last 12 Bundesliga games and Heidenheim have suffered two 2-1 defeats in succession away from home.
