The is the first time these sides have met in a league fixture and both clubs come into it looking in pretty good shape. Wolves will be pleased with how things have gone under new boss Walter Zenga but he did taste defeat for the first time last time out as his troops slipped to a 1-0 defeat at early season leaders Huddersfield. 8 points from 5 games is still a good return with 3 of those games on the road and they’ll be hoping to move back into the top six with a win here against the newly promoted club. As expected, Wolves added some new faces late on in the window, the most notable being Portuguese international winger Ivan Cavaleiro who joined for a reported club record fee of £7million.

Burton don’t have anything like that kind of money to spend but the early signs at least suggest their current squad is good enough to at least be competitive in this league. You have to admire their approach, which has seen them throw caution to the wind even on the road and only 2 sides can better their tally of 10 goals from their opening 5 matches. Nigel Clough will know there is a long season ahead but would’ve gone into the international break on a real high, after a 1-0 win over local rivals Derby in their most recent fixture.

Burton’s two away games so far have been a 4-3 defeat at Nottingham Forest and a 2-2 draw at Blackburn and you can only assume they’ll come here and try to cause Wolves a few problems. Zenga’s men have looked an improved outfit though and the new arrivals will only strengthen that. The crowd is on side with what feels like a new era starting at Molineux and they should have a bit too much quality for their opponents here but, given Burton have been scoring and conceding plenty of goals, consider backing Wolves to Win & Both Teams to Score at 10/3 which looks to offer extremely good value.
