Tip Reasoning
After conceding four goals for the second week in a row Gareth Ainsworth’s Wycombe sit precariously just on top of the relegation zone as the early table starts to take shape. Seven games in and Wanderers have one of the worst defensive records in the division and have lost three in a row in the league. Ainsworth would have gone in to this season with high expectations after his side were one of the league’s surprise packages last year but after a frustrating run of injuries they have not been able to hit the same heights.
Darren Sarll’s job recently has been a story of recovery after heavy defeats to Leyton Orient and Grimsby saw Stevenage slip down the league table. A big victory over Hartlepool was backed up with a good 2-1 home victory over Crawley last week and after three wins in the league on the bounce Stevenage now sit in 12th position. Sarll will be happy with his side’s ability in front of goal but after no clean sheet in their opening seven league fixtures he will be hoping his defence can get that monkey off their backs this weekend.
Stevenage are looking in good shape but away days are never easy and Wycombe will be determined to kick start their season in front of their own fans. With the goalscoring record of Stevenage and the defensive frailties shown by Wycombe we think that backing over 2.5 goals at 1/1 with bet365 looks to be the safest bet. For our correct score tip we are going to back a 2-1 away win.
