Unbeaten teams face off

Two of the early pace-setters in Ligue 1 face off on Saturday as Lyon host Rennes. The pair remain unbeaten, with the hosts having won two and drawn two of their four matches while the visitors have won three and drawn one.

Both teams also picked up points on the road in Europe this week as Lyon secured a 2-1 away win over Anderlecht while Rennes were frustrated by a goalless draw with Sturm Graz, despite the fact that they won the shot count 23-11.

Low-scoring clash fancied

Recent meetings between these two have been high-scoring but this looks unlikely to follow suit.

Lyon have only conceded twice in their four league games and have limited their opponents to just 13 shots on target as they have tightened things up at the back under Paulo Fonseca.

Rennes have also conceded just one goal in their last three games and with the pair both making their first road trips of the Europa League campaign in midweek, it could take a while for this game to get going. Side with under 3.5 goals to land in this one.

There may be little to split these two teams in this clash and a 1-1 draw is the correct score selection.
