Stockport can carry form into the playoffs

Stockport are in form and should be backed to continue their winning run away at Wycombe on Saturday.

They are one place above Wycombe in the table, but both teams have won more games than they’ve lost this season. These sides are separated by goal difference and will be heading into the play-offs in different moods.

Stockport maintained their winning run last weekend, beating Lincoln 3-2 to bring the visitors’ five-game unbeaten run in League One to an end. Stockport have now won 16 of the 23 matches in which they have been odds-on this season. They have won four of the 17 games this season in which they’ve shipped the first goal (24%).

The visitors are in fine fettle. Stockport have avoided defeat in seven of their last nine League One games, a run which includes five wins. They have not tasted defeat in seven matches.

Wycombe’s attack has been blunt of late, with the hosts losing their last two League One games to nil.

Their recent form in League One has been up and down, with three wins and three defeats in their last six games. The victories came against Bolton, Stevenage and Huddersfield, but the run also included a demoralising 4-0 defeat by Charlton.

Stockport can edge this, with a 1-0 correct score in favour of the visitors looking like a decent bet. At least one side failed to score in Wycombe’s last eight League One games and Stockport have won their last two matches by a goal.
