Zorya vs Manchester United Predictions

Zorya’s foray into the Europa League group stages has gone as many people expected – Badly. They come into the final game of the group stages winless and out of the running for a knockout position, but they still have a chance to change proceedings on Thursday.

Fenerbahce, Manchester United, and Feyenoord are all separated by just three points, meaning any of them can take the top spot in the group and none are safe from elimination from the Europa League. Zorya need to win if they want to send Manchester United home though.

Wins haven’t been easy to come by for Zorya recently either. They lost 3-2 to Dnipro at the weekend to make it six games without a win for them, with three of them ending in defeat. At home they have lost their last two matches as well, so it’s not looking overly promising for them.

Manchester United’s inconsistent season continued at the weekend as a late penalty allowed Everton to take a point in a 1-1 draw. This made it six games unbeaten for Manchester United, but they have alternated between impressive victories and dismal draws during this period.

The Europa League was expected to be low on Jose Mourinho’s list of priorities at the start of this season, but their massively faltering Premier League campaign means that winning trophies in the cup competitions is now going to play a bigger role in his job security. I wouldn’t expect many key players to be left at home for this one.

One of the players expected to play is Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish veteran started his Manchester United career in excellent fashion before dropping off the boil, but he has now scored six goals in his last six appearances. Backing him to score anytime at 4/6 looks the best option for our anytime goalscorer predictions.

Zorya, for all their limitations competing with European heavyweight, have at least managed to find the net in both of their home games in the Europa League so far. In fact, they have scored in all 12 of their home games this term, and Manchester United have only kept two clean sheets in their ten away days this season. I can’t see Zorya keeping Manchester United at bay though, so odds of 11/10 for Both Teams to Score look good value for money. I’m also backing a 2-1 win for Manchester United at 7/1 for my correct score predictions.
