Arsenal vs Eintracht Frankfurt Predictions

Arsenal may be in a state of turmoil right now and the pressure mounting on Unai Emery’s shoulders, but the Spaniard has a knack of pulling it out of the bag when it comes to the Europa League.

The Gunners, despite their flailing domestic campaign, find themselves top of Europa League Group F with two games remaining, and they know victory on Thursday would guarantee them the top spot in the standings.

They have won three of their four Europa League games so far, one of which came in a 3-0 thrashing of Eintracht Frankfurt over in Germany. The visiting Bundesliga side are having an unusually tough time of it in the Europa League this term, and their defeat to Standard Liege last time out leaves them trailing the Belgians in the group.

Frankfurt are desperate to get back into second place, especially since Standard Liege could end up facing an Arsenal side that have already secured top spot in the final round of matches. However, they have lost four of their last six games in all competitions and look firmly out of form right now.

What’s more, they’re facing an Arsenal side that haven’t lost at home in the Europa League since February 2018. The Gunners have won their last seven home games in the competition, scoring 19 goals in the process and netting at least twice on six occasions.

Even with their domestic failures, Emery’s side remain unbeaten in all competitions at home this season, and they have scored at least two goals in eight of their 10 matches. Frankfurt, meanwhile, have shipped two or more goals in five of their nine away games since the Bundesliga season started, so we think backing Arsenal Over 1.5 Team Goals looks a great choice here.

We’re expecting an Arsenal win too, and considering they have averaged 2.5 goals per game at home this season, we fancy them to bag a few goals here. They have, however, conceded an average of 1.2 goals per game and Frankfurt have only failed to score in one of their last nine away games. So a 3-1 correct score prediction is looking attractive.
