Barca bouncing back?

After a tricky run which included a Europa League elimination at the hands of Manchester United and shock La Liga defeat to Almeria, Barcelona returned to form by beating Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Thursday.

That was an eighth clean sheet in their last dozen games, a stunning record for a side who have still only conceded once in their eleven home league outings.

Nine of those matches have ended in victory, including each of the last three to nil, while they have dropped just five points to teams currently in the bottom half of the table.

Valencia in deep trouble

Valencia on the other hand face losing their place in the Spanish top flight for the first time since 1986/87 after a run of seven defeats in their last nine league outings.

The anomalies during that period have been a 2-2 draw at home to Almeria, and last weekend when they scrambled a 1-0 victory over Real Sociedad to remain in touch with the teams above the relegation zone.

Voro’s side have however been dire on the road, failing to win in seven La Liga away games and losing each of the last five, failing to score in the most recent four.

I predict that Barcelona will win this game to nil, with 2-0 my correct score prediction.
