Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
We may be already focused on the return of top-level football later this month, but the winners keep coming this summer here at FST!
Friday night brought four winners and you can read all about them below, kicking off the biggest of the bunch, our 23/1 Accumulator tip.
23/1 Acca lands in quiet Friday
- Drogheda double chance vs Dundalk
- Shelbourne to win vs Finn Harps
- Over 3.5 goals in Germany W vs Denmark W
- Belgrano to win at Nueva Chicago
- Drogheda 1-0 Dundalk
- Shelbourne 3-1 Finn Harps
- Germany 4-0 Denmark
- Nueva Chicago 0-1 Belgrano
Friday night was far from busy across the world of football, which saw us switch our focus to The Irish top division and Argentian action. Our fourfold got off to the perfect start in Ireland, with Drogheda taking the lead a minute into the game. They held on for the remainder of the match to secure a vital 1-0 victory.
A double from Gavin Molloy sent Shelbourne in 2-1 up at half-time in the other game and they capped that off with a strike with 15 minutes to go to claim the points.
We had backed over 3.5 goals in the evening’s Women’s Euros action in both our fourfold and as our 7/4 Bet of the Day. That bet rolled in with just four minutes left on the clock, as Germany completed a 4-0 rout with an 86th-minute strike from Alexandra Popp to round off the win.
With the first winner of the night secured focus turned to the final leg of the acca, where a struggling Nueva Chicago hosted Belgrano. A 63rd-minute penalty from the visitors made the difference in the end, with the form side triumphing over the goal-shy hosts. That wrapped up our 23/1 winner, but the night wasn’t done yet!
Overnight success from MLS with 4/1 & 23/10 winners
With two wins on the board our overnight action started, with three matches from MLS headlined by El Trafico – the clash between Los Angles FC and LA Galaxy. As usual with the pair this was a thriller, as LAFC continued their fantastic campaign with a 3-2 victory.
That win brought more success for us, landing our 23/10 Both Teams to Score & Win Best Bet selection. It also brought a goal from Cristian Arango, landing the first leg of our 4/1 Bet to Net Double. The second landed not long after, with Lucas Cavallini scoring the opener for the Vancouver Whitecaps against Minnesota United, securing a fourth winner from a huge night!
