The Formula One circus touches down at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix this weekend, and it promises drama after an incredible end to last weekend’s Austrian Grand Prix.

Lando Norris continues to push Max Verstappen hard in his McLaren, while Mercedes are showing more and more signs of improvement and will be high on confidence after taking the win last Sunday.

British Grand Prix predictions & tips

Lando Norris to win at 5/2

Lando Norris had the pace to take his second Grand Prix win last weekend, but he was denied by Max Verstappen as the Dutchman forced contact between the two drivers and ended Norris’ race in the closing stages.

His subsequent retirement was just the second time in the past seven races that Norris has not been either first or second, but he could make amends at his home Grand Prix on Sunday.

Norris finished second to Verstappen here last year and has a solid record around Silverstone. Considering the race pace he is showing in his McLaren, he looks an excellent price to claim a second Grand Prix win of his career.

Lewis Hamilton to finish on the podium at 7/4

If Norris has a solid record around Silverstone, Lewis Hamilton’s is out of this world.

The seven-time world champion has won a record eight times and has been on the podium in every British Grand Prix of the past decade, despite Mercedes’ downturn in performance since the regulation change.

That performance does seem to be coming back to the Silver Arrows, though, with teammate George Russell taking the chequered flag in Austria last weekend and neither Mercedes finishing outside the top four in the last three races.

Russell has had the beating of Hamilton so far this year, but the 39-year-old knows this track like the back of his hand and can never be discounted.

Nico Hulkenberg to finish in the points at 10/11

Nico Hulkenberg claimed his best result of the season in Austria last weekend and can follow that up with another points haul at Silverstone.

Barring a retirement in Monaco, the Haas driver has not finished lower than 11th since the first race of the season and his sixth-place finish at the Red Bull Ring was his fourth points finish of the campaign.

He has taken part in 11 British Grands Prix and picked up points in nine of them, so back him to add to his tally on Sunday.
