League Two predictions, betting tips and best bets
Morecambe vs Cheltenham Town
League Two pace setters Cheltenham have blown hot and cold of late, though their convincing 2-0 win at Salford last Saturday will have significantly boosted their confidence, and that should lead to more consistent performances.
Morecambe are just six points shy of top spot, though their squad is stretched by bans for Nathaniel Knight-Percival and Yann Songo’o, and Cheltenham are worth backing to claim the points at the Globe Arena as a result.
FST Predicts: Cheltenham Town to win
Colchester United vs Bradford City
There have been tentative signs of life from Colchester, who acquitted themselves well during Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at home to a strong Tranmere outfit, and Wayne Brown’s men can earn another positive result against Bradford.
The mid-table Bantams are winless in five matches and they have lost three times on the spin away from The Utilita Energy Stadium.
FST Predicts: Colchester United double chance
Carlisle United vs Cambridge United
A run of three wins from four has kept Cambridge within swinging distance of Cheltenham in League Two, and they can keep the pressure on the league leaders by defeating an inconsistent Carlisle team in Cumbria.
Carlisle are winless in three games, and Cambridge were comfortable 3-0 winners when the teams met for their reverse fixture back in September.
FST predicts: Cambridge United to win
Tranmere Rovers vs Mansfield Town
Tranmere finished a taxing run of four away matches in five fixtures with a draw at Colchester in midweek, where Rovers came from two goals down to rescue a point.
Back at Prenton Park, where they have won two of their last three, Tranmere are favoured to get their promotion push back on track against a Mansfield side that has won just twice in their last 13 attempts.
FST Predicts: Tranmere Rovers to win
Leyton Orient vs Oldham
Successive victories have reignited Leyton Orient’s flickering playoff hopes and the Londoners will be going on the offensive in search of another three points this weekend.
Jobi McAnuff’s charges could leave gaps to exploit in their hunt of goals however, and Oldham, who are the leading scorers outside League Two’s top eight, should have chances to register.
FST Predicts: Both teams to score
Grimsby Town vs Walsall
Grimsby eked out a slender 1-0 win at Barrow on Tuesday, and Town must keep stringing victories together to stand a chance of mounting a great escape this season.
The Mariners have a great chance to put another three points on the board on Saturday when a Walsall team on a run of 11 games without a win visit Blundell Park.
