Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.
The international break may bring about a reduced calendar, but that didn’t stop us from having another successful weekend of football predictions.
Here we’re taking a look back over our weekend winners, which includes a 21/1 Brazilian accumulator which landed on Saturday night.
21/1 Brazilian acca lands!
- Santos double chance at Atletico GO
- Both teams to score – America MG vs Gremio
- Over 2.5 goals – Bragantino vs Fortaleza
- Both teams to score – Internacional vs Athletico Paranaese
- Corinthians to beat Cuiaba
- Atletico GO 0-0 Santos
- America MG 3-1 Gremio
- Bragantino 3-0 Fortaleza
- Internacional 2-1 Atletico Paranaese
- Corinthians 3-2 Cuiaba
Saturday’s acca winner was largely drama-free, with Atletico GO failing to score for the fourth-game running to landing our first selection. After that, Gremio scored a consolation goal 10 minutes into the second-half to land our BTTS selection in their game.
It took 60 minutes for Bragantino to land our over 2.5 goals selection single-handedly, while two first-half goals at Internacional saw BTTS land there. Our final game looks like a bit of a thriller, but Corinthians led for 81 of the 90 minutes against Cuiaba and that wrapped up our 21/1 winner!
Bet of the Day successes
The Republic of Ireland may not have had anything to play for in Luxembourg but they still impressed to land Sunday’s Bet of the Day selection. We had backed the Irish at 6/5 to win their final game of the campaign and they did it in style, with a 3-0 victory. Following that, we’ve now won six straight Bet of the Day tips.
Saturday brought a 8/5 winner for our fifth success on the bounce. We backed Chesterfield to score at least three goals and they obliged with a 4-0 victory over Weymouth.
It wasn’t just football which saw success this weekend. We backed the Nashville Predators to beat the Arizona Coyotes in our NHL Best Bet on Saturday, while the LA Clippers delivered in our NBA Best Bet on the same night. Their 129-102 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves more than cleared the -7 handicap we backed them with, which also saw our 2/1 US Sports Double land as well.
