129/1 Winners double for the CJ Cup & Mallorca Open

The DP World Tour heads to Spain’s Balearic Islands this week for the Mallorca Open and the PGA Tour action comes in the shape of the CJ Cup at Congaree Golf Club, South Carolina.

Racing Post golf expert Steve Palmer has picked out his winners for each of those events and together they combine for a 129/1 double, which as always he recommends backing as an each-way bet.

129/1 Golf each-way double

FST each-way golf double fans can enjoy some R&R this week – by which we mean a double on Rasmus Hojgaard to win the Mallorca Open and Jon Rahm to win the CJ Cup, any rest & relaxation can follow.

The Rasmus-Rahm double pays 129/1 with the bookmakers offering 12/1 on Rasmus and 9/1 on Rahm.

Hojgaard does not get enough credit for the fact that he is a 21-year-old with three DP World Tour titles to his name.

It is a sensational start to his professional career and the Dane seems certain to add further silverware to his collection over the years to come.

Hojgaard’s maiden victory came in the Mauritius Open – and he could be set for more island joy in Mallorca on Sunday.

The form of Rasmus stands up to the closest inspection. Despite suffering an eight at a par-three early in round three of the French Open, he ended up losing the tournament by just a shot, pipped by a brilliant last-gasp birdie from Guido Migliozzi.

Hojgaard followed his Paris near-miss with 17th place in the Dunhill Links Championship and fifth spot in the Andalucia Masters at Valderrama on Sunday.

Rasmus seems the most likely Mallorca champion, while the same case could be argued about Rahm after his 25-under-par masterclass in the Spanish Open the week before last.

Rahm dazzled noisy home galleries with a six-shot victory in Madrid, taking a lot of confidence from the way he handled the pressure of emphatic favouritism.

Having finished second in the BMW PGA Championship prior to Madrid – and closing both events with a round of 62 – Rahm appears to be bringing his A-game to South Carolina for the CJ Cup.

Rahm started the year as world number one, before a frustrating few months, but he is ending 2022 in style.
