A run of just one defeat in their last eight Eliteserien outings means 26-time champions Rosenborg could close the gap to Norway’s top sides with a victory over mid-table Aalesund on Sunday. However, Kjetil Rekdal’s side have not had it all their own way recently – with each of their last four games containing goals at both ends – and look set to play their part in another end-to-end contest.

Indeed, six of the last seven games to feature Rosenborg have seen both teams net, with the Troillongan shipping a total of 11 goals across those fixtures, scoring 16. Rosenborg’s away record leaves much to be desired, with Rekdal’s side managing just one win in seven outings, which have contained a total of 21 goals. As such, Aalesund should be expected to play their part.

Aalesund played out a 2-2 draw with Sandefjord last time out – their third 2-2 stalemate in five games.
