Celtic have to win at Pittodrie

Celtic head to Aberdeen on Wednesday knowing that even a perfect run between now and the end of the season may not be enough to chase down leaders Hearts.

The Bhoys played out a 2-2 draw with Old Firm rivals Rangers over the weekend and are now eight points adrift of top spot, albeit with this midweek fixture being a game in hand.

Celtic should at least be able to get back to winning ways at Pittodrie as they face an Aberdeen side who are destined to finish in the relegation group. Defeat for the Dons would officially end their chances moving into the top six before the split and the best angle here looks to be backing Celtic to cover a -1 handicap.

Aberdeen stunned Celtic in the Scottish Cup final last season but have struggled in both previous meetings this term, losing 2-0 at this venue in August and then 3-1 in Glasgow in December.

The hosts have also failed to score in their last two games and if they draw a blank against Celtic it seems likely they will lose by more than one goal.

Celtic have scored at least twice in five of their last six away games and exactly twice in four of those trips, so a routine 2-0 win for the visitors is the correct score pick as the visitors look to close the gap on Hearts to five points.
