The early season form which saw Aberdeen briefly challenge at the top of the Scottish Premiership seems like a distant memory after their latest setback, and they could be set for another difficult afternoon in their first game of 2025 on Thursday.

Their 1-0 defeat to Dundee United leaves them without a win in eight attempts, a run which has seen them slip to third in the table and some 16 points adrift of title-elects Celtic.

The Dons have taken just three points from a possible 24 in this run, which is a huge drop-off considering they won ten of their opening 11 fixtures.

Ross County have had their own difficulties this term, but the festive period saw them turn a corner with a win away to Dundee and a draw with Hearts ending a four-match losing streak.

They have avoided defeat in six of their last 11 ties and look a good bet to take something from the Pittodrie Stadium, with a 1-1 stalemate predicted to give Ross County their eighth draw of the campaign.
