AC Milan vs Juventus Predictions
This is quite easily the game of the weekend in Italy, with AC Milan enjoying a strong start to the season. The seven time European champions look to be on course for a return to continental football. Meanwhile, Juventus are just continuing to do what they usually do, top Serie A. Even at this early stage, they have a comfortable buffer between them and second.
Juve possess the best away record in the league so far, and they’re showing little sign of slipping up this term. They’ve won 88% of their games in Serie A, including four straight victories. Their fantastic form stretches back quite some way, as they have won 33 of their last 36 league matches. That’s a ridiculous run, which shows just how dominant they are.
They’re heading towards a sixth title, and they’ve opened up a five point lead. Their statistics this season show that they’re a side many will struggle to catch. They’ve scored 2.13 goals per game so far. The champions have conceded just 0.6 goals per game, although they did concede twice in Milan last month. Only one side in the league can better their total of 17 goals.
Obviously a lot of attention will be placed on Gonzalo Higuain during this game. The expensive Juventus forward was brought in to make the difference in the biggest moments for his new club. While they’re expecting him to help them to win the Champions League, the Argentine will be looked at in big matches like this. He had a fine scoring record before the international break, hitting four in four games. The £75million man is surely going to get back to that form. He’s worth a look to score any time here, at 5/6 with bet365.
While Juventus have quite a lot going for them, they face a strong Milan side. One which are pushing for a return to Europe’s top table. They’re scoring 2.25 goals a game at home, although they’re conceding 1.5 a match at the San Siro. They’ve been clinical finishers, putting away 16% of their chances at home. Juventus can’t match that, having scored from just 11% of their shots. However, they’re creating close to 19 chances per game. Given that Milan are conceding from 10% of the shots they face, the visitors shouldn’t have too much trouble scoring.
Juventus should score goals wherever they go, while this Milan side are difficult to contain. AC have scored seven in their last two, and they look to be full of confidence. We can see them scoring against a Juve side who are missing a couple of players at the back. We’re backing both teams to score in this one, which is priced at 10/11 with bet365.
