RB Leipzig -1 @ 3/4

We use stars to rate our confidence in our tips, with 3 being most confident to 1 being the least.
RB Leipzig 3-0 @ 8/1

Reason For RB Leipzig vs Union Berlin Predictions

  • RB Leipzig have won each of their last four Bundesliga home games by more than one goal.
  • RB Leipzig have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their last eight Bundesliga games.
  • RB Leipzig have got the Bundesliga’s best home defensive record.
  • Union Berlin have got the Bundesliga’s worst away goalscoring record.

Leipzig impressive before the winter break

Saturday’s evening kick-off in the German Bundesliga sees league leaders RB Leipzig take on Union Berlin. Leipzig will be looking forward to getting back to business in the Bundesliga following Germany’s four-week winter break. The league leaders finished up the first half of the season on an impressive run of form.

Leipzig are currently undefeated in their last 12 games in all competitions, winning nine in that time. In contrast to Leipzig, Union will have been happy to have entered the winter break when they did. Die Eisernen took all three points from just one of their last five Bundesliga games, losing three.

Leipzig will be confident going into the opening fixture of the second half of the season this Saturday. They will be hopeful of securing a comfortable three points from this game as they set their sights back on a Bundesliga title charge.

Union’s away goalscoring troubles

Bundesliga debutants Union Berlin have struggled in front of goal on their travels this season. No team have scored fewer away goals than Union in the Bundesliga up to this point. They have managed to score just eight goals in their eight Bundesliga away games thus far.

Union’s poor away goalscoring record especially doesn’t bode well for them going into Saturday’s fixture. No Bundesliga team have conceded fewer goals at home than Leipzig this season. The league leaders have conceded just nine goals in eight Bundesliga home games.

Leipzig will be confident of shutting out a Union side who have struggled to score away from home. Leipzig’s impressive home defensive record has helped them to win five of their eight Bundesliga home games, losing just one. Meanwhile, Union have suffered as a result of their poor away goalscoring record this season. In contrast to Leipzig, they have won just one of their eight Bundesliga away games, losing five.

Leipzig’s seemingly unstoppable goalscoring form.

On top of Leipzig’s solid home defensive record, they have been frightening in front of goal this season. Leipzig currently have the Bundesliga’s best goalscoring record, scoring 48 goals in 17 games this season. Leipzig finished the first half of the season with an outstanding goalscoring streak. They have scored over 2.5 goals in each of their last eight Bundesliga games.

Furthermore, Leipzig have won each of their last four Bundesliga home games by a margin of more than one goal. So we are confident Leipzig have a good chance of winning Saturday’s game in comfortable fashion. We are backing Leipzig -1 in this fixture.

Leipzig remain the only team to score more than two goals versus Union Berlin in the Bundesliga this season. Leipzig won the reverse fixture 4-0 at Union. Given their impressive goalscoring form of late, we feelthey may put more than two goals past Union this weekend. We are backing a 3-0 win for Leipzig here.
