Armenia vs Bosnia And Herzegovina Predictions

Armenia were beaten at home by Italy 3-1 in midweek, while Bosnia-Herzegovina strolled to a 5-0 victory at home to Liechtenstein and in the process moved ahead of their hosts on Sunday in the Group J table. Both nations have work to do if they are to catch Italy and Finland and claim one of the two automatic qualifying spots and really need to win on Sunday to keep the pressure on the top two.

All of the stats suggest that Bosnia-Herzegovina will win but we expect a close game in which both teams will score. Just a point separates the pair after five qualifying matches and their last encounter was tight, tense, and competitive.

Bosnia-Herzegovina have won all of their previous three encounters with Armenia and both teams scored in two of the three previous clashes between these two countries. Back in March, goals from Krunic and Milosevic helped Bosnia-Herzegovina on their way to a narrow 2-1 win over Armenia, with Mkhitaryan scoring the visitors only goal from the penalty spot.

The form and performances of both countries over their last six international matches point towards a Bosnia-Herzegovina win this weekend and goals at both ends of the pitch, as Armenia have lost three of their last five internationals and Bosnia-Herzegovina have won two and drawn one of their last five internationals. Both teams have scored in four of Armenia’s last six and three of Bosnia-Herzegovina’s last five matches.

Armenia have only failed to score in one of their last six matches, while Bosnia-Herzegovina have only failed to score in two of their last six internationals, which is why we’re expecting both keepers to be beaten this weekend but have backed Bosnia-Herzegovina to claim a narrow 2-1 win.

We’re confident that Bosnia-Herzegovina will win on Sunday and have predicted a final scoreline of 2-1. The visitors have the better squad on paper and have won each of their previous three encounters against Armenia. Both sides have played to a similar standard in the qualifiers so far but Bosnia-Herzegovina head into the match on the back of a 5-0 win while Armenia lost their last game 3-1 and we believe that if either of these two countries are to catch Finland or Italy and qualify automatically then Bosnia-Herzegovina are better prepared having qualified for a major tournament before unlike Sunday’s hosts.
