C4 clash can explode into life

Armenia host North Macedonia in a pivotal game in UEFA Nations League Group C4 on Sunday and an explosion of goals might be the outcome. Armenia need to win the game to join North Macedonia on seven points at the top of the standings, so the home side will not be content with a draw.

Havakakan were held to a 2-2 draw by the Faroe Islands in Torshavn on Thursday. They were the better side based on the quality of chances they created but a couple of costly errors at the back meant they had to settle for a point.

That was the fifth game in Armenia’s last six that featured at least three goals and if Sunday’s clash combines as much skilful attacking play and woeful defending then it will too.

Mistake-ridden Lynxes are hard to trust

Blagoja Milevski’s Lynxes have scored in each of their last three road trips to Czechia, Faroe Islands and Latvia while they lost 5-2 to Italy in Rome only last November.

Although all the ingredients are there for a goal glut, this clash still appears tough to call in terms of which teams gets the result they need. North Macedonia will probably take a draw, but their tendency to give goals away when put under pressure makes them hard to back, even to get a point.

A 2-1 home win is just the preference in correct score betting, but the odds against quotes about at least three goals being scored look generous given past results and the group position.
